Beautiful riads, rich culture, bustling medinas: Morocco has a dash of magic around every corner.
In 2024, The Getaway Co. will embark on our second journey through arguably the world’s sparkliest country, this time with vegan lifestyle expert, Lauren Toyota from hot for food!
Throughout our week-long holiday experience, highlights include: a visit to a traditional village near the Atlas Mountains, dinner with a local family and music under the stars in the Agafay desert and a trip to a donkey sanctuary. We’ll also venture west from Marrakech all the way to the coast to take in the fresh air of Essaouira, where we’ll enjoy a guided tour of the winding souks.
And of course we’ll have ample opportunity to talk and learn about vegan food! Lauren Toyota will walk us through the creation of one of her recipes from her endless repertoire of fabulous vegan delights, and we’ll cook a traditional vegan dinner on our closing night in a Riad in the Marrakech Medina!
As always, there will also be free time at the stunning Riad and Villa Le Perroquet Bleu (The Blue Parrot) which we’ll have all to ourselves to rest, relax by the pool, connect and enjoy. So sign up now and can’t wait to see you in magical Marrakech.

Getaway Details
Sunday, March 26th: Check in at Riad Le Perroquet Bleu followed by welcome drinks and opening dinner party with belly dance performance.
Monday, March 27th: Breakfast at Riad, lunch at restaurant in Marrakech, city tour with visit to Bahia Palace and Jemaa el-Fna Square and dinner at restaurant in Marrakech.
Tuesday, March 28th: Breakfast at Riad, free time to relax (no lunch will be provided on this day), evening cooking demo with Cheap Lazy Vegan, dinner at Riad.
Wednesday, March 29th: Early breakfast at Riad and check out, Atlas Mountains and Agafay desert excursion with hike and very special sunset dinner in the Agafay desert. Check in at Villa Le Perroquet Bleu upon return.
Thursday, March 30th: Breakfast at Villa, free time to plan your own excursion. Optional yoga class at the villa in the afternoon. No lunch will be provided on this day but the villa will have options for order for those who are around. Dinner at the Villa.
Friday, March 31st: Breakfast, day trip to costal city of Essaouira with lunch, city tour and special dinner.
Saturday, April 1st: Breakfast and lunch at Villa, henna experience with Siham, closing night Moroccan cooking experience at Monriad Marrakech.
Sunday, April 2nd: Family breakfast followed by check out and goodbyes.
